Rack server chassis and electronics enclosure design

We develop rack cases and mechanical enclosures for our customers' server, industrial computer and custom electronics projects. We establish harmony between electronics and mechanics by jointly designing hardware layout, cooling, cabling and service access.

Your project, your product

Developed confidentially and delivered with source files.

We may work with a confidentiality agreement (NDA) before sharing technical details. At the end of the project, we deliver the source codes, design files and technical documents we have developed to you.

  • NDA before sharing technical information
  • Clear deliverables agreed at the outset
  • Source and technical files at the end of the project

VOMRO engineering approach

The chassis also determines the operating conditions of the electronic system.

Just because a board fits in the case doesn't mean the design is complete. Connectors need to be accessible, disks need to be changed, cable bending space and air flow need to be maintained. Rack height and available depth directly affect these decisions.

VOMRO begins the mechanical work with the hardware list and usage scenario. A common model can be prepared for the layout of an existing board or a newly developed electronic system; Interface measurements are tracked with revisions.

01

Hardware and connection placement

The motherboard, power supply, storage, expansion cards, and custom controllers are modeled with mounting points. Front and rear panel openings, indicator locations and cable exits are determined. Access to fasteners and the assembly sequence are treated as details that cannot be resolved by looking at the final appearance alone.

  • Panel and connection details
02

Cooling and maintenance access

Heat-source positions, fan directions, air inlets and outlets, and cable obstructions are examined together. Servicing is included where filters or fans need replacement. Cooling performance is not assumed without defining ambient temperature and hardware load; prototype assessments cover temperature and access.

  • Airflow and thermal evaluation
  • Maintenance and parts replacement access
03

Geometry suitable for the production method

Sheet metal bending, machining and other manufacturing methods are evaluated according to quantity, material and operating conditions. Bend allowances, tolerances and joints are documented in the drawings. The first physical sample is checked for board fit, cover closure and assembly; findings are incorporated into the production revision and the design files are updated.

  • Checking assembly with a physical sample

How it works

A clear process from start to delivery.

Not every project looks the same; however, the measurable requirement, controlled revision, and field verification steps remain unchanged.

  1. 01

    We set boundaries

We define rack dimensions, hardware and usage conditions together.

  2. 02

    We develop the layout

We match components to connectivity, airflow and service need.

  3. 03

    We evaluate the example

We check the assembly, access and operating conditions on the physical prototype.

  4. 04

    We provide technical files

We deliver the approved models and drawings together with revision information.

Frequently asked questions

Before starting the project

The technical scope, deliverables and test plan are clarified together according to the requirements of your project.

Can an enclosure be designed for my existing electronic circuit board?

Appropriate mechanical design can be developed by examining board dimensions, three-dimensional data, connector locations and thermal requirements.

Do you develop custom enclosures other than rack enclosures?

Yes. The project scope can be determined according to size, installation and environmental conditions for desktop, in-machine or field use.

How are design files and confidentiality handled?

We can work with NDA. We deliver the design and technical files of the project at the end of the project. We clarify the list of models, drawings and other outputs at the beginning.
